How it works
Position size = amount at risk ÷ loss per unit at the stop. Without costs, the loss per unit is simply |entry − stop|. With a cost rate c per side, the loss per unit becomes |entry − stop| + c × (entry + stop).
Worked example
Account 10,000 USDT, risk 1% → 100 USDT at risk. Entry 50,000, stop 49,000 → 1,000 per unit. Position size = 100 ÷ 1,000 = 0.1 BTC, worth 5,000 USDT (half the account, so no leverage is needed). With 0.1% cost per side the loss per unit is 1,000 + 0.001 × 99,000 = 1,099, so the size drops to 0.0910 BTC.
Leverage changes how much margin the position ties up, not how much you lose at the stop. A stop beyond the liquidation price is never reached; check it with the liquidation price calculator.
